Train with a Champion: Maddie Manning’s Basketball Camp

Maddie’s story is one of resilience, leadership, and success. She starred at Ankeny High School under Coach Scott DeJong from 2008-12, earning two-time first-team all-state honors and the prestigious Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior, averaging 16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.2 steals per game. She led Ankeny to the state tournament four times, captaining the 2012 all-tournament team while leading the Hawkettes to a runner-up finish. Her legacy was cemented when she was inducted into the Iowa High School Hall of Fame.

Her journey didn’t stop there—Maddie continued her career at the University of Oklahoma, where she overcame two season-ending knee injuries to play in four NCAA Tournaments. She earned multiple All-Big 12 recognitions, was a six-time First-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection, and received the OU Athletic Council Leadership Award and OU Service Award six times. A true scholar-athlete, she represented perseverance and excellence at every level.

Following her collegiate career, Maddie competed professionally, earning a spot on the All-Star Team in Switzerland, proving she can play on a global stage. Now, she’s back home, inspiring young athletes as the owner of Manning Sports Academy in Polk City, where she provides training and mentorship. Maddie has also been the special guest at the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Association’s annual camp during the girls’ state tournament the past two years, sharing her wisdom and experience with the next generation of athletes.
