Our Mission
Mission Statement
Blue Jay Basketball Club is a recreational basketball organization located in Bondurant, Iowa. Our mission is to provide opportunities for Bondurant-Farrar youth to learn the game of basketball and life lessons on accountability, responsibility, unselfishness, persistence, commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the discipline that come along with it.
Secondarily, to build the basketball program of Bondurant-Farrar by developing each
player and making the game fun so kids continue to play.
History of Blue Jay Basketball Club
Blue Jay Basketball Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2014 in Bondurant, Iowa. The club was founded to address the need for a youth basketball organization to lay the foundation of fundamental skills development and knowledge in the game of basketball within the Bondurant community. Prior to the organization, youth teams were having to create their own teams, leave the community or some may enter Jr. High never playing basketball before. This put a lot of stress on the Jr. High program and coaches as they were spending a lot of time on the basics of the game vs developing the program for future success.
Blue Jay Basketball Club has grown over the years to now providing basketball opportunities to 200+ youth athletes between the grades of 3rd through 6th grade in Bondurant. We provide opportunities for our athletes to develop their skills throughout the year with the basic ideology of focusing on fundamentals, quality reps and exposure to the game will keep kids engaged which will lead to the long-term success of basketball within the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District basketball programs.

There is strong correlation supporting the clubs philosophy that increasing participation in our youth ages and engaging more kids by keeping as many out as we can for as long as possible leads to long-term program viability over the years.
Girls Basketball Program Results
- 9 seasons prior to BBC: Averaged 11.5 wins, 3 regional finals, 3 state appearances
- 4 seasons since BBC: Averaging 14 wins, 3 regional finals 2 state appearances
Boys Basketball Program Results
- 9 seasons prior to BBC: Averaged 12 wins, 1 substate final, 0 state appearances
- 4 seasons since BBC: Averaging 17 wins, 3 substate finals, 2 state appearances
The graphs below tracks wins on the left hand side of the graph and number of seniors Bondurant-Farrar High Varsity programs have out on the right side of the graph.
There is strong correlation showing the high school program's success is tied to keeping as many kids out from their youth years through their senior year of high school, while giving those kids the opportunity to develop their skills through leagues, tournaments, camps and skills sessions.
