Blue Jay Basketball Club Summer League
Summer League Season is designed similar to Fall League
2024 Summer League games will be played July 8th - July 22nd.
If we get enough teams to fill all divisions, teams will play 2 games on the either:
- Mondays of July 8th, 15th, and 22nd
OR
- Tuesdays of July 9th, 16th, and 23rd.
It will be one night or the other for the week with 2 games on a night.
If we don't get enough teams and can play them all on one night, we will just utilize Mondays.
- Season runs June through July
- Bluejay Club Summer League player Fee is $50/player.
- Registration fee covers cost for practices, games and uniform.
- Club teams will practice 1-2 times per week in June and July.
- Practices will start early to mid-June. Players are expected to attend practice.
- Practices are typically 1hr long between 4pm-7pm.
- Teams will play two 40 minute games per night on a weeknight evening in July for three weeks.
- Games start at 4:00pm and are done around 7:30pm.
- Games are hosted at the same gym locations as the Fall League.
- Games will be played on full size courts with one game in a gym per time with two paid officials assigned to each game
- Competition during summers tends to be better due to more advanced club teams are playing ball.
- Summer League is intended to allow the most advanced players the opportunity to compete against other advanced teams
- Teams playing league games will consist of teams from outside Bondurant and Bluejay Basketball Club.
- Registration is now open!
- Registration closes May 10th, 2024
- The goal is to have at least one summer team per division for boys & girls entering 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades.
- If only one team - this would be an “A” team for each grade level that would be chosen by the Board with input from coaches – sometimes through a tryout.
- Depending on number of registrations, there may be two teams per grade/division.
- Other teams that play in summer tournaments are primarily club or select teams (not school teams) and usually consist of kids that are only playing basketball.
- Competition level steps up another notch and with our mission of keeping the game fun and kids wanting to continue to play in future, that means putting our kids into a situation where they have a chance to be successful.
